The Minister of Health, Mduduzi Matsebula, has lauded Ezulwini Private Hospital (EPH) for its landmark achievement in receiving the internationally recognized Council for Health Service Accreditation of Southern Africa (COHSASA) accreditation.
This prestigious certification highlights the hospital’s commitment to delivering world-class healthcare to emaSwati and beyond.
In a press statement, the minister congratulated EPH on behalf of His Majesty’s Government, describing the milestone as a testament to the hospital’s unwavering dedication to excellence in healthcare service delivery.
“By attaining this accreditation, EPH has not only demonstrated its adherence to global best practices but also cemented its reputation as a beacon of excellence in healthcare within the Kingdom of Eswatini,” he said.
COHSASA, a non-profit organization based in Cape Town, is recognized for its rigorous evaluation of healthcare facilities. With standards accredited by the International Society for Quality in Health Care (ISQua), the accreditation process examines over 4,000 evidence-based metrics, ensuring that healthcare organizations meet the highest benchmarks of safety, efficiency, and effectiveness.
With its accreditation, Ezulwini Private Hospital joins a distinguished network of healthcare institutions across 14 African countries that uphold global standards.
Since its inauguration in 2022 by His Majesty King Mswati III, Ezulwini Private Hospital has lived up to the vision embodied in its name, Sitselo Semphilo – “the fruit of life.” The hospital has set a new benchmark in healthcare through its state-of-the-art facilities, 24-hour operations, and cutting-edge medical equipment.
EPH offers a wide range of services, from emergency care to specialized treatments, catering to patients from across Eswatini and the region. Its infrastructure includes 24-hour CCTV surveillance, two backup generators, an uninterrupted power supply system (UPS), and a remotely monitored oxygen bulk tank, ensuring seamless and safe operations.
This robust setup, complemented by a highly skilled team of medical professionals, has positioned EPH as a leader in the healthcare sector.
The accreditation comes at a pivotal time as Eswatini continues to adapt to the post-COVID-19 era, striving toward the Government’s “Health for All” goal. Matsebula emphasized that the achievement provides reassurance to emaSwati that their healthcare needs are being met efficiently and cost-effectively.
“This recognition is not just a testament to EPH’s dedication but also a source of assurance for emaSwati that their healthcare needs are being met efficiently and cost-effectively,” the minister noted.
The minister extended his heartfelt congratulations to the Board, Management, and staff of Ezulwini Private Hospital, praising their hard work and dedication.
“Your achievement serves as an inspiration not only within the healthcare sector but across all industries, reminding us of the importance of striving for excellence in service delivery for the betterment of our nation,” he said.
He also called on other institutions in Eswatini to emulate EPH’s example, urging them to pursue excellence to elevate standards across all sectors.
With COHSASA accreditation now in hand, Ezulwini Private Hospital has firmly established itself as an exceptional healing environment and a beacon of hope for quality healthcare in Eswatini.
Matsebula concluded, “EPH, you have made our Kingdom proud. May you continue to soar to even greater heights as an Exceptional Healing Environment and a beacon of hope and quality healthcare for all.”
