ERS to Host Digitalization Roadmap Symposium On The 11th of December

The Eswatini Revenue Service (ERS) is set to host its highly anticipated Digitalization Roadmap Symposium on Wednesday, 11 December 2024.

Under the theme “Digitalized and Data-driven with Our Partners,” the event will spotlight ERS’s transformative journey toward digitalization, aligning with its 2024-2027 strategic goals.

The Symposium promises to be a milestone event, bringing together thought leaders, innovators, and government officials to explore integrating digital tools into tax administration and customs processes.

It also underscores ERS’s commitment to fostering partnerships that drive innovation, efficiency, and compliance while contributing to Eswatini’s broader digital transformation agenda.

The Minister of Finance, Neal Rijkenberg, will deliver the opening remarks, setting the stage for a day filled with insightful discussions and demonstrations. The keynote address will be delivered by the Minister of Information, Communication, and Technology, Savannah Maziya, who will highlight the critical role of ICT in propelling Eswatini toward a digitally enabled economy.

ERS’s Digitalization Journey and Vision: ERS Commissioner General Brightwell Nkambule and members of his Executive Committee will share the organization’s achievements and ambitions, covering seamless registration, transformed declarations, integrated payment systems, and smart border solutions.

Panel Discussions: Industry experts and stakeholders will engage in thought-provoking discussions on the role of digital public infrastructure in tax and customs digitalization. The panel, moderated by Dr. Methula, Acting CEO of the Royal Science and Technology Park, will feature:

  • Msebe Malinga, Registrar of Companies
  • Mvilawempi Dlamini, CEO of ESCOMM
  • Sebenele Madzinane, Group Tax Manager at Montigny
  • Sabelo Gama, Deputy Director of Operations: Payment Systems at CBE

Focus on Employee and Client Experience: Presentations by ERS leaders will delve into strategies for fostering digital dexterity within the organization and enhancing client engagement through innovative solutions.

The event underscores ERS’s commitment to forging partnerships that drive innovation, efficiency, and compliance while contributing to Eswatini’s broader digital agenda.
